Today is a big day for me and my team.
Today, we pressed publish on a project that we’ve been working on for a while now.
It’s called the Desert Dwellers Podcast.
Through this podcast, I’m telling stories of business, entrepreneurship, creativity, and personal brands from the American Southwest. Living and building a business in Phoenix has given me such a deep insight into the amazing things that happen here and in all the desert cities that surround us. I think that our thriving economic contributions are often overlooked in favor of subtle stereotypes. The desert might be hot, but so is the business happening here. In fact, each year Phoenix ranks as either the 5th or 6th largest metropolitan area in the country and is growing exponentially every day. I figured there was good reason for that growth and those were worthy stories to tell.
I hope that you’ll listen to our first episode and subscribe to the show because we have 11 more incredible guests lined up and I can’t wait to introduce you to the people in my city and beyond.
Thank you so much,
Sara

Show Notes:

Doug is currently the Director of Marketing and Creative at Reshoevn8r and the co-founder of the apparel and product brand Extra Super. Doug previously served several years as the Creative Director for a large humanitarian non profit where he was able to tell incredible stories of vulnerable people all over the glove while championing for their access to clean water, food, and education.

Graphic designer by trade, Doug moved out west chasing a job and has since fell in love with Phoenix.

He has dug his heels in to create community and culture in the desert through large events such as Pedal Craft and The Pinewood Classic.

He currently lives in Phoenix, AZ with his wife Sara and their three children.

This interview is amazing and I hope that if you’re listening from Phoenix, you’ll feel more energized by what’s happening here and what’s possible when you invest in where you are. Bloom where you’re planted if you will.

And if you’re listening from somewhere else, I hope it at least makes you want to visit.
